About the client
The European Patients’ Forum (EPF) is an independent non-profit, non-governmental umbrella organisation of patient organisations across Europe and across disease areas. Their 78 members include disease-specific patient groups, active at EU level and national coalitions of patients. Through initiatives like EUCAPA, EPF equips patients with the knowledge and skills to actively engage in healthcare processes, fostering a collaborative approach to health technology evaluations.

EUCAPA sought to create a patient-friendly platform that simplifies the complexities of Health Technology Assessment (HTA).
The main challenge was designing a website that is both visually appealing and capable of effectively conveying statistical and medical knowledge in an understandable manner for lay audiences. The challenge was to craft a website that balances technical sophistication and user accessibility.
EUCAPA required a platform to train patient experts, raise awareness, and support treatment evaluations, all while addressing design consistency, technical performance, and legal compliance. Meeting the tight timeline for delivery added an extra layer of complexity.
Finally, we had to replace the initially selected batch of stock imagery with hand drawn custom illustrations in a requested style in alignment with the project's visual identity.
