Their website is the alliance's digital visit card for the EU institutions, and it was no longer doing that job. We rebuilt it in WordPress with Elementor, restructured how publications are filtered, and migrated the full archive with redirects protecting existing search authority.

About the client
The Primary Food Processors (PFP) Association represents Europe's primary food processing industry at EU level. Its five member associations process around 220 million tonnes of agricultural raw commodities each year and employ over 120,000 people across Europe. PFP engages the Parliament, the Commission and Member States through position papers and press releases.

The initial challenge
PFP's outdated WordPress site no longer reflected the alliance's standing with the EU institutions.
For an organisation whose influence rests on being taken seriously by policymakers, the site worked against them. The publications section showed it most clearly.
Every post carried the same fallback thumbnail, and both classification systems sat at one level, so visitors could not tell a press release from a position paper, or filter by policy theme. There was no analytics and no cookie consent.

We designed and built a new site in WordPress with Elementor, covering around ten core page templates from the homepage and priorities pages through to archives and single post layouts.
The publications architecture was rebuilt around two classifications. Categories now indicate post type, tags indicate policy theme, and both are exposed through a dropdown filter and as links on every post.
We reviewed the migrated archive, assigned missing tags, fixed broken links and built a redirect map so search authority carried over. A custom event template feeds a dynamic homepage section. We configured GTM, GA4 and Search Console in PFP's own Workspace account with CookieYes for GDPR, then closed with recorded training and a 30 day warranty.
